New release from Enonic
The Gilbane Conference is considered to be the industry’s premier CMS exhibition. Enonic plans to release version 4.1 of Enonic Vertical Site at the exhibition. Here are some of the new features:
- Several admin console improvements
- All pages in Vertical Site may now be accessed through readable paths
- Spring framework for simplified deployment and management of the application
- Support for SUN Application server and Tomcat standalone environment in addition to the exisiting support for Oracle AS, IBM Websphere, BEA Weblogic and JBOSS
- Support for MySQL and Derby/JavaDB database systems in addition to the existing support for IBM DB2, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL.
- New cache system based on the EHcache library for increased performance in cluster environments.
- An optional Remote Portlet consumer (WSRP) is now available for Vertical Site. This enables you to access WSRP portlets deployed in your favourite Portlet container (IBM, Oracle, BEA, JBOSS) through Vertical Site.
- A standard JSR-168 portlet option is now available. The portlet may be deployed on any standard compliant Portal. This portlet utilizes Vertical Site's rendering engine and provides a remote view of this in the 3.rd party portal.
- Selected parts of the API are now available as Web Services through the SOAP protocol. These operations are also available through native Java RPC.
