We are finally able to present the results of our work so far this year, Enonic Vertical Site - Version 4.3:
Personification in the built-in portal
Users and developers may now enjoy the possibility to control preferences for users in the portal. Preferences are stored per user, and may be used on a per window, page, site or even across sites according to the requirements. This may for instance be used to let developers view their favourite news, customize components on a page, or even select an avatar for their user and so on..
New and improved editor with new functions and possibilities
The new editor contains several exiting improvements, Firefox support, full freedom in configuration, fullscreen mode, document element paths and even role-based access to HTML source mode.
Extended "My page"
"My page" now includes last changed content, and also contains a content wizard for production and publishing of content.
Improved search
The search function is now re-written in includes support for searching file content i.e. word, pdf, xml, html and text. Additionally one may now query content through sections and even relations. Querying and sorting on medata such as content type is also supported.
Resources on file
All resources have been moved to file, this means that you may work directly with resources , using your favourite editor - no more cut'n paste. This also significantly improves configuration management, letting you move configuration between systems using "drag'n drop". Finally, static resources such as graphics and other design-elements are stored in the same location. Resources are accessible through either FTP or WebDav.
Support for multiple userstores
It is now possible to associate EVS with multiple directory servers. As an example, this enables sign-on to your companys intranet, using your Active Directory server, whilst using another LDAP server for your extranet.
Administration console improvements
With the feature of our new editor, the admin-console is now 100% compatible with Firefox. Bulk operations on relations and improved navigation in content lists are some of the most significant changes. The interface is now even available with Danish and Swedish, in addition to English and Norwegian.
Extended API
Our function library for developers contains several important extensions. Access to and management of preferences, as mentioned earlier comes on top of new methods for content such as create, update and delete, everything using standard POJOs. Also, all content get methods now support query syntax, in order to filter and sort the result in no time.
Updasted package templates
All package templates have been rewritten to support the new file-based resource structure. A forum package, similar to Enonic Community is included. The packages have also been simplified in order for new developers to quickly get an overview.
