Norsk Tipping is responsible for the national lottery in Norway. After a thorough evaluation of both national and international Content Management System vendors, they chose Vertical Site and Enonic. The requirements were:
- Functionality and architecture that can handle massive load (1/2 million page views per day)
- The new CMS had to run on their existing hosting environment
- User-friendly content creation, publishing and management
- Experience with IBMs software and hardware
Norsk Tipping has a complex hosting environment based on IBM Websphere Application Server and Oracle database. Vertical Site, which is based on the J2EE framework, fits right into this environment. Because of the massive load from a high number of users, Vertical Site will be installed in a clustered environment. Norsk Tipping will implement Vertical Site using their own IT-department, supported by Enonic with consultancy work and training.
“By choosing Vertical Site as our new web platform, we will be ready to meet the increasing competition from other Internet gaming companies. Vertical Site turned out to be excellent both in ease of use and flexibility. Also, Vertical Site matches our technology and hosting environment very well”, says Anne Cathrine Morseth, project leader at Norsk Tipping.
”The installation at Norsk Tipping is our largest so far, and we are very pleased that Norsk Tipping decided to use our product as their web platform. The agreement with Norsk Tipping confirms that we are on-track with Vertical Site - covering market requirements in both functionality and technology”, says Morten Eriksen, Managing Director at Enonic.
The re-launch of Norsk Tipping’s gaming portal is set to the 2nd. quarter of 2004.
