CMS with full accessibility
Since the Internet’s early childhood the philosophy behind Web Content Management has been that everyone shall have the opportunity to read the content regardless of special needs. This includes users with disabilities and special needs like speech synthesis for playback of content, Braille (a code which enables blind persons to read and write), voice-recognition and pointers for utilizing the keyboard.
A set of standards have been developed to address these special needs. Enonic encourage using these standards so that everyone can read content on web pages. Vertical Site contains no restrictions in regards to the technical quality of the code that transfers to the user’s web browser. This means we fully support standards such as Section 508 and WAI.
In addition to the obvious advantages for people with disabilities and special needs, there are also other benefits by using these standards. One example is that users with older equipment and dial-up modems will get significantly quicker access to the pages.
